User controls are a type of content item that allows you to create dynamic blocks of content that are updated automatically based on different parameters that are set within that content item. For example, you may want a section on your home page to display recent blog posts from only members of your chapter. The IAAP Web Community home page uses a similar control to update the most recent blog posts from all of IAAP's members, but it can be modified to show blog posts from a specified group or even a specific person (as we have done with the "From the President" section on the community home).
